We get it - 12 months might seem like a long time to wait to claim for these specified issues. But here’s the thing...without pet insurance, the costs for these sorts of health issues would come out of your own pocket for the rest of your pet’s life. We feel that is absolutely necessary for your pet’s insurance to cover, these events as there is a possibility of your fur child ending up with a condition such as, for example; hip dysplasia, which is incredibly expensive to treat, which will be covered after 12 months.

So, in the grand scheme of things, 12 months and affordable premiums, doesn’t seem that long. Besides, you can still claim for other events during this time, that are unrelated to the pre-existing condition etc. Which means you still have cover to for the small and big stuff when visiting the vet

It is important that your furry member of the family’s vaccinations are ALWAYS up to date in order to prevent an illness/sickness - a big reason why we include cover for vaccinations in some of our plans is to help you be a responsible pet parent. So if their vaccinations are up to date, we can help keep Fluffy healthy, this is why it is also important to complete your Pet Wellness wheel in the App so that we can remind you when vaccinations are due.

Excesses are applicable. The excess is the amount you have to pay in when it comes time to claim. You can waive all excess on your policy by adding the excess buster from R29pm per pet.* *plan dependant
